Teachings By Jesus

Jesus Tells Us That Following His Teachings Is of Central Importance
Jesus makes a sharp distinction between the old fear-based religious dogmas about sin and judgment, and His own new love-based teachings. For example, He says, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (JN 8:31-32). He says, “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (LK 6:46) And, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me. If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from Myself (JN 7:16-17). “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My Word, he will never see death” (JN 8:51). “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven will enter” (MT 7:21). And always, always Jesus is urging us to ask, to seek, and to knock! He says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” (MT 7:7-8). Jesus came to earth to bring us a new and entirely love-based spiritual movement which thrived for three hundred years before it was brutally destroyed, and the Roman Emperor Constantine then built today’s fear-based Christian religion in its place.
